If You Find Yourself Alone this Christmas……
When everyone is surrounded by family and you’re not, you can feel so alone. When everyone is filled with Christmas cheer, laughter and expectation and you’re not, it can be a really lonely place. So I want to bring you some hope this Christmas. I want to fill you with laughter and expectation. I want you to feel loved and accepted and to feel comforting arms wrapped around you.
At Christmas time, we remember the fulfilment of the prophecy:
“Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us” (Matthew 1:23).
We remember the day when God came to earth in human form. Why did He do this? Because He wants to be with you. He loves you with a passion, even to death, death on a cross. He came to die for you, to lawfully claim you back from the clutches of the enemy, the devil. He has forgiven your sins and removed them as far as the east is from the west. There is no barrier between you and God now. You are free to run into His arms. You are free to stand boldly before your heavenly Father and make your requests known to Him. You are free to receive His love for you.
You are never alone. Jesus is right there with you, just waiting for you to turn to Him, to believe in Him. He has promised never to leave you. He has not turned His back on you. No matter what you have thought, said or done He values you and longs for your company.
Instead of you both sat there, longing for love and recognition, why don’t you just speak out His name…. JESUS. Why don’t you ask Him to show Himself to you? Why don’t you ask Him to wrap His arms of love around you? He will, I promise! Don’t be embarrassed – no one else is around to hear you. You will no longer be lonely. Joy and peace will flood your heart. This will be the best Christmas you have ever had. Why not give Jesus one last chance?
This is why Jesus became man 2000 years ago – so that you could be with Him, and He could be with you….. forever. Immanuel, God with us.
